Every year a very special ATKV award is given to a South African company that promotes reading. After almost five years, our dedicated Fairtrade project; The Mobile Library has been awarded the ATKV Woordveertjie Award.

The ATKV (Afrikaans Language and Culture Association) is a society that aims to promote the Afrikaans language and culture. On the 6th of September various writers, animators and personalities in literature were awarded ATKV Woordveertjies for their contributions to the Afrikaans language in different categories.

Du Toitskloof Wines’ CEO Marius Louw received the award on behalf of everyone involved at the Fairtrade Mobile Library Project and gave a short, heart-warming speech conveying gratitude and inspiring all to take a step in affecting change.

Two of South Africa's most prestigious wine producers have joined hands with farm workers to bring broad-based reading material and internet technology to impoverished children in rural areas. Launched by Du Toitskloof Wines and co-sponsored by Douglas Green Wine the brand-new mobile library is already impacting positively on the community.
