8 Gold Medals at Michelangelo Awards 2021

The results of the 25th Michelangelo International Wine & Spirit Awards were announced this week. Du Toitskloof performed wonderfully and shows versatility with gold medals for 4 red wines, 2 white wines, one rosé, and a Méthode Cap Classique.

2021 saw a total of 1890 wines and spirits entered, including entries from various countries. Amidst the bans and lockdown regulations of the Covid-19 pandemic, the competition drew the cream of South Africa’s wine and spirits industry for the 2021 judging panel consisting of leading winemakers, sommeliers, wine writers, and Cape Wine Masters.

The Michelangelo International Wine & Spirits Awards was established in 1997 to offer South African producers the opportunity of having their wines adjudicated locally by a highly experienced and respected panel of professionals from around the globe.

Our winning wines for 2021 were no surprise as some of these wines have been awarded throughout the year, motivating sales to the extent that follow-up vintages now grace shelf space and winelists.
